Make a Difference, One Cat at a Time

Volunteers are the heart of the Safe Haven. Your time helps provide daily care, comfort, clean spaces, and second chances for cats in need.

Volunteers are the heart of the Safe Haven.

Everything we do, from daily care to helping cats find their forever homes, is made possible by people who choose to show up, give their time, and care deeply. If you have ever wanted to make a real impact in the lives of animals, this is your chance.

Why volunteer with us?

Your time helps create second chances.

When you volunteer, you help create a safe, clean, and loving environment for cats who are waiting for their next chapter. Every clean space, fresh meal, and gentle moment of care matters.

What volunteers do

Daily care that truly matters.

Volunteers play a key role in the daily care and wellbeing of our cats. Much of the work focuses on creating a clean, safe, and comfortable environment where cats can relax, heal, and thrive while they wait for their forever homes.

Daily cleaning

Cleaning cat areas, sweeping, mopping, refreshing bedding, and helping keep the shelter comfortable.

Food, water, and litter

Refilling food and water, scooping litter boxes, and supporting the routines that keep cats healthy.

Calm and comfort

Helping maintain a calm, safe, and welcoming space for cats, visitors, and fellow volunteers.

Transportation help

At times, volunteers may be asked to help transport animals to and from vet appointments or other locations.

Special projects

Some volunteers help with events, organizing supplies, small projects, or other shelter needs.

Your unique skills

If you have a specific way you would like to contribute, we are always open to hearing from you.

A realistic look at volunteering

Volunteering at a shelter is not always glamorous. Much of the work involves cleaning, routine care, and making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.

But it is also incredibly rewarding. You will see cats grow stronger, healthier, and more confident. You may even get to watch them find their forever homes.
